I hope this article is helpful for you. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve been asked to paint my house, my car, or my office, and the question was, “Do I have to paint? Is it bad to do so?” You’re the judge. Either way, I will do my best to answer your query.
Asking a painter if they can paint is the easiest way to get the answer to your question. People will tell you if they can do it or not because it is an important question to ask. The only way to know is to ask. To be honest, I have never painted my own home, but I have painted someone else’s home and it was a lot easier than you might think.
I have had very similar experiences. A few years ago my friend and I were talking about how it was difficult to paint and what we all did when we first started. We were talking about our first painting project in the summer of 2005 and I said I just didn’t want to paint my own house. I wasn’t joking. So my friend and I decided to paint a neighbor’s house with the idea that it would be more difficult than ours.
For most people, painting their own home is pretty easy. If you have a professional painter you can usually paint the entire house in about a week tops. If you get the job done yourself, the paint process can take a bit longer. But, if you just want something to do, you can do it pretty quickly.
In our case, however, we decided to work with a friend, a contractor, who has a professional painter. So we started by removing the carpet, painting the trim and doorways, and painting the baseboards. We then covered in primer. We did this all within a week.
